Revegetation

Earlier today I saw a neighbor out in the middle of the overflow basin with a shovel and a couple buckets.
Looks like he was getting impatient for the promised water-wise and native-plant-correct revegetation that was supposed to restore this wasteland to its natural splendor.   So am I.

The flood plain project in today’s Missoulian is the same one I blogged about here and here.  (This is located out Mullan Road near the Conoco.)

They’ve shaved the ground clean, done some contouring and are now starting to scrape the hawthorne starting on the west end. The project engineer assured me that they are going to leave some of these in place, since it’s all we have in the way of mature plant life.
