Earlier today I saw a neighbor out in the middle of the overflow basin with a shovel and a couple buckets.
Looks like he was getting impatient for the promised water-wise and native-plant-correct revegetation that was supposed to restore this wasteland to its natural splendor.   So am I.

I guess the flood control engineers knew what they were doing after all. It’s not even high water yet.
